My experience doesn’t make me better than you

By

Another year has passed, and I’m more blessed with everything I’ve experienced. Since my accident the one that almost took my life I’ve faced hardships, not to mention the accident itself that changed me forever. I tell myself, and everyone who notices I’m different, that the old me died in that accident.

No one knows the struggles, the hardships, the challenges, the pain I endured the sweat and tears, the things I hid so no one could see how vulnerable I really was. I’ve learned that not everyone you call a friend is actually a friend. Some are low-key hoping to see you fail, envying your success, your happiness, or anything good in your life.

These so-called friends, the ones you treated like family and went above and beyond for, are often the best at disguising themselves. They act like good people with good intentions, but in their twisted minds, all they see is that you’re doing better you have what they only dreamed of, you travel, you’re happy, and you receive love from others.

Which brings me to this: everything I’ve been through has taught me that you only get one life and life is precious. I can either play the victim and be victimized all over again, or I can make the best out of every situation.
